Whoever says wedding planning is "fun" is "crazy." There is nothing fun about this... unless you can take time off of work and actually LIVE to plan this event.
Of course, the meaning is beautiful. I can't wait to celebrate the day that marks the start of our new family together. However, the wedding industry is downright exorbitant.
I mean, really! When someone hears the word wedding, they mark up the cost exponentially. Its just one day... an important day, but I've had other days with just as much significance (college graduation, anyone?!) Yea, you get to look really pretty.... and wear a fabulous dress... but really, its a lot of hullabaloo. And I'm disgruntled!
Sorry to be negative, its just been a long few weeks with trying to start school, get my new home settled, and train for the half marathon that's only a month and a half away (AND fundraise!!!!). My frugalness struck again, however... I think I found the practically-almost-perfect gown, for $88. You could knock me over with a feather. I'll let you know if it works out, but the other gown (that IS perfect) is over $3000. That's 34 times more money. So that cheap-ness is beating out my exorbitant-ness. (Yes, I'll post pictures if it works!!!!)

Please do post.... and I know one tip is just say its for a family celebration, rather than a wedding... for things like reception, flowers, etc... sometimes it'll keep things cheaper... and you aren't truly lying... I could see some people getting grumpy, but really... just b/c its a wedding, the same thing should not cost you more then if it was for a family reunion or graduation... just saying.
